Precision Vials

We have an inventory of Precision vials of various sizes and sensitivities that are used for repair and replacements. We also keep on file complete production records of every vial manufactured, so duplication can be made at any time of any previous order. Normal sensitivities of 5 to 600 seconds per graduation. Each has an inside radius ground to the exact dimensions for smoothness and accuracy of bubble movement. Minimum order: $50.00 / Set-up fee: $50.00 Art work, if applicable.

Ground Precision Vials: This, the most common of precision vials, has a barrel radius of curve, ground on the inside surface only. A special testing method determines accuracy prior to the completion of the vial.

Top Ground Vials: The top grinding of bent vials results in accurate and equal bubble movement for the full length of the vial and should be specified when incremental accuracy is required.

Ordnance Vials: We maintain complete specifications of Ordnance vials of the tubular type. In most instances quantities of each type (including some of obsolete design) are stocked. You will find it convenient to call on us for these vials for emergency repair work.

Reversion Vials: In instances where “two side,” top and bottom usage is required, reversion vials may be specified. Like commercial precision vials, a radius of curve is ground on the inside only. An identical “top and bottom” surface is identified, allowing reversal of the vial to record the same readings. (Stock items only).

Special Application Vials: Other types of special application precision vials are available. Provide required specifications when requesting quotations. Moyer Precision Vials are used in laser equipment, optical electronics, or wherever maximum accuracy is required. Precision Ground Vials are custom made products. From years of experience, we have found that rarely are there two customers who use the same identical vial. Physical dimensions are often the same; however, sensitivities, division spacing’s, bubble size, etc., can be different to such a degree that the vials are not interchangeable between customers. Prices are based on quantities involved, length, sensitivity, temperature range, fluid, divisions, and type tolerance on physical dimensions and sensitivity.
